College tuition these days just seems to be climbing and climbing. Some private institutions charge upwards of $50,000 per year. However, there is a college that charges just $980 for tuition.
Berea College was founded in 1855. It has about 1,660 students and 140 acres of campus in Berea, KY. It was the first interracial and coeducational college in the south. And most importantly, it charges barely any tuition.
Instead, it relies on a large endowment. And students are required to work at least 10 hours a week at a campus job. It offers degrees in 28 fields and is a member of the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. It has 16 varsity programs. Sounds like a pretty good deal.
